
Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The Buffalo Police Department made a pair of arrests in connection with an assault that occurred near Gallagher Beach last month that was circulated widely on social media.
Back on Aug. 3, A District officers responded shortly after 11 p.m. to an assault call at Tifft Street and Fuhrmann Boulevard. Witnesses stated a victim was sucker punched from behind, slammed on his head, and struck dozens of times while unconscious by multiple assailants.
The victim’s car was also damaged.
Detectives immediately began an investigation and suspects were identified in the incident.
20-year-old Louis Bodine of Buffalo was arrested two days after the incident and charged with one count of Assault in the First Degree (Class "B" felony) and one count of Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree (Class "E" felony).
Two weeks later, 21-year-old Ryland Schloerb of Tonawanda was arrested and charged with one count of Assault in the Second Degree (Class "D" felony) and one count of Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree (Class "E" felony).
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
