
Lewiston, N.Y. (WBEN) - The bodies of two individuals were recovered from the waters of the Niagara River on Friday in the Town of Lewiston.
At around 11:40 a.m. ET, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call reporting two bodies were floating in the Niagara River in front of the New York Power Authority at 5777 Lewiston Road.

With the help of New York State Police, officials were eventually able to locate the bodies floating in the water by Stella Niagara. The Niagara County Sheriff's Office Marine Unit with the assistance of the U.S Coast Guard retrieved the bodies from the river.
Upon the preliminary investigation, an adult male and female were retrieved from the waters. The identities of the two individuals are unknown at this time.
The Niagara County Criminal Investigation Bureau is looking into the matter at this time.
