Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The Buffalo Police Department has arrested a pair of teenagers for their alleged connection with a kidnapping that occurred on Wednesday.
At approximately 7:30 p.m., C District officers responded to a stolen vehicle call on N. Parade Avenue. A short time later, it was reported to police that the vehicle was taken without permission by a known suspect with an adult and two children in the vehicle. The call was updated to a kidnapping.
The suspect allegedly picked up another subject before the vehicle ultimately stopped at Urban and Kehr streets in Buffalo.
The 18-year-old teen, identified as Marquelle Porter, fled on foot, but was located and apprehended without incident at Glenwood Avenue and Portage Street.
As for the 15-year-old that had been picked up by Porter, he also fled on foot and was located at Fougeron and Josephine streets in possession of a loaded handgun with an extended magazine. He was also apprehended without incident.
Porter has been charged two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Class A misdemeanor), one count of Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle in the Third Degree (Class A misdemeanor), one count of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fifth Degree (Class A misdemeanor) and one count of Petit Larceny (Class A misdemeanor). Further charges may be forthcoming.
As for the 15-year-old, he has been charged one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (Class C felony) and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (Class D felony).
