Buffalo, NY (WBEN) Buffalo Police have identified the passenger who died in the Thanksgiving morning crash downtown. The car crashed into the McKinley Monument in Niagara Square.
The passenger has been identified as 34 year old Angel Marie Cobb of Buffalo.
Police say she was pronounced dead at the scene. The 40 year old male driver of Buffalo is listed in critical condition at ECMC.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Accident Investigation Unit of the Buffalo police department.
Buffalo Police Captain Jeff Rinaldo says police officers saw the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and when they entered their vehicle they saw the smoke coming from the square and were on scene almost instantly at 7:28am.
