Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - With just 15 games left in the regular season, Sabres fans are anxious to know details of the potential postseason run coming to Buffalo for the first time since 2011.

Chief Operating Officer of the Sabres, Pete Guelli wants to model the team's "game-by-game" strategy and not jump the gun on announcing postseason ticket options. The Sabres have over a month left to maintain their first place rank in the Atlantic Division, which would guarantee a home playoff game in the first round and second round, if they advance in the playoffs.

"We still have a lot of work to do, so we're not throwing out the 'P' word just yet," said Guelli.

With the NCAA men's basketball tournament coming to town this week, KeyBank Center is focusing on a successful run of March Madness before divulging any potential Stanley Cup Playoff game details to fans.

"I'll just say we'll be ready, and I know the fans will be ready when it's time," Guelli continued.

The Stanley Cup Playoffs are set to begin April 18. The Sabres currently lead the Atlantic Division by four points over the Tampa Bay Lightning. It has been 14 seasons since Buffalo's last appearance in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
