Wilson Central Schools investigating staff member’s social media posts

The district superintendent says the matter will be handled in line with its values of kindness, empathy, compassion

Wilson, N.Y. (WBEN) - Wilson Central School District has launched an investigation after a staff member allegedly made concerning and distressing social media posts, according to a letter posted online Friday by Superintendent Timothy Carter.

A source told WBEN the individual is a teacher who posted disparaging comments about conservative activist Charlie Kirk following his assassination.

In his letter, Carter said the district is taking the matter "very seriously" and that it will be addressed "promptly and thoroughly in alignment with our core values of kindness, empathy, and compassion."

The district said no further details will be released while the investigation is ongoing.
