Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - One of Buffalo's Thanksgiving weekend traditions is set for Saturday. The World's Largest Disco will welcome some 7,000 partiers.
Founder Dave Pietrowski tells WBEN celebrity guests were announced during Friday's Sabres game. "We've got a good lineup of celebrity guests from all different decades, coming into the event, because our event is expanded beyond people that were born and raised and had fun in the 70s," says Pietrowski. He says those who watched their parents grow up with the Disco are going themselves.
This years celebrity guests are: Tim Matheson(Animal House, Fletch, West Wing, Virgin River ), Corbin Bernsen( LA Law, Major League),Chris Knight( Peter Brady ) , Ian Ziering ( 90210, Sharknado) Deney Terrio (Dance Fever) , Melissa & Joe Gorga( Real Housewives of New Jersey) and our musical guests, The Sugarhill Gang.
This is the 30th Disco, with proceeds going to Camp Good Days and Special Times. "There's about 500 volunteers, including the entire board of this group that puts the event on, no one's ever been paid in 30 years of the event. So it's 100% volunteer, and all the money goes to camp," says Pietrowski, who notes $7 million has been given to the camp in 30 years.
If you're looking for tickets for next year's event, Pietrowski suggests getting on the Disco's mailing list. Tickets usually go on sale in early August.
