Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Wounded Buffalo Police Officer Marc Hurst has been discharged from Erie County Medical Center, less than a week after being wounded in an officer-involved shooting at a residence on Sherman Street in the city's East Side neighborhood.
Buffalo Police Benevolent Association (PBA) president John Davidson says Hurst was able to walk out of the hospital Monday, but there is no timetable on a return to work.
Hurst was shot six times during a domestic call last week Tuesday when the suspect, Minhaz Siddiqui, was able to pull a concealed weapon from his waistband as officers attempted to arrest the 33-year-old. The nine-year veteran of the force was struck one time in each calf, one time in the upper thigh, one time in the upper arm, and twice in his bulletproof vest, hitting his radio and taser.
Siddiqui is facing first-degree attempted murder for the shooting of Officer Hurst.
