Notably, this was the eighth child she's had since she turned 50.
The German woman, Alexandra Hildebrandt, told the TODAY show she's received 'only positive feedback' about her newest son Philip, who weighed a healthy 7 pounds, 13 ounces at birth. She added that she had 'no difficulty conceiving.'
In an interview with the German newspaper Bild, Hildebrandt credited her active lifestyle with her ongoing fertility. "I eat very healthily, swim regularly for an hour, walk for two hours," she said.
Her oldest children are 46, and 36, and her youngest before the new baby is 2 years old. “A big family is not only something wonderful, but above all, it is important for raising children properly,” she wrote to media outlets in an email.
In addition to raising 10 children, Hildebrandt manages the Wall Museum at Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin.
But she's not the oldest woman to have given birth. That honor goes to Erramatti Mangayamma, a 73-year-old woman from India who gave birth to twin girls in 2019 via vitro fertilization.
