Police have arrested at least one person connected to a yacht anchored in Nantucket Harbor that was found to have guns, drugs, and prostitutes onboard, according to a report.
The Nantucket Current reported that authorities investigated the 70-foot motor yacht named Jess Conn on Tuesday, discovering the ship’s questionable cargo in the process.
According to Harbormaster Sheila Lucey, who spoke with the Current, the discovery was made after a woman was removed from the yacht for a “wellness check” on Tuesday morning.
The woman was brought to an ambulance on shore, but Lucey shared it wasn’t clear why she needed medical assistance.
Immediately after the woman was seen by paramedics, the Nantucket Police Department and U.S. Coast Guard began investigating the Jess Conn.
The Current reported that the authorities discovered the prostitutes, drugs, guns, and other contraband while searching the vessel.
The boat was registered in the Cayman Islands and had been anchored off Newport, Rhode Island before it arrived in Nantucket late last month.
Nantucket Police Department Lt. Angus MacVicar confirmed that the department is investigating the boat but didn’t provide further details.
“Yes, we are currently working on an involved case and, as a result, cannot comment on the details,” he told the outlet.
