A man was visiting Disneyland Paris with his girlfriend when he dropped down to one knee on a stage in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle to propose.
Unfortunately, even though the stage was unoccupied, that’s still a big “no-no” at Disney, and a park employee immediately rushed over to squash the beautiful moment.

Of course, the video went viral, and Disneyland Paris, along with the park employee, have faced universal criticism for how they handled the moment.
Apparently, the man even asked another park employee if it was ok of they walked onto the empty stage, and received permission. And the fact that the employee ran over and snatched the ring right out of the guy’s hand has been the target of critique.
One person commented on the video, “Trying to figure out if dude was happier enforcing rules or ruining [the] moment. He was legitimately happier for ruining the moment.” Another added, “If some stranger ran up and snatched a diamond ring out of my hand, more than the moment would be ruined.”
According to the New York Post, Disneyland Paris says the park has reached out to the couple, saying they "regret how [it] was handled,” and have "offered to make it right."
