
LOS ANGELES (KNX) – Taylor Hawkins, the drummer for the rock band Foo Fighters, has died.

The band shared the following message with fans on its social media pages:
“The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins. His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever. Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time.”
Details surrounding Hawkins death is unknown at this time.
He was in Bogotá, Colombia at the time of his death. The band was scheduled to perform at Lollapalooze Brazil on Sunday. They were also scheduled to perform at the Grammy Awards on April 3.
Hawkins was born in Fort Worth Texas in 1972. He was a touring drummer for Alanis Morrissette from 1995 to 1997.
Hawkins has been with Foo Fighters since 1997. The band was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2021. In February, the band starred in a horror-comedy movie entitled "Studio 666."
Hawkins was 50-years-old.
