Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who was running for president as an independent candidate, suspended parts of his campaign and endorsed former President Donald Trump last week, but what will he do now?

While the Republican nominee has said that he would consider offering Kennedy a spot in his administration, the former Democrat and environmental lawyer said he’s made “no commitments” to doing so at this time.

Kennedy shared his thoughts on a possible cabinet position while speaking with Fox News Sunday, saying that he has spoken with Trump.

“I met with President Trump, with family, with his closest advisers, and we just made a general commitment that we are going to work together,” Kennedy said.

As for the partial suspension of his campaign, Kennedy shared last week that he was suspending his run for president in swing states but keeping his name on most red and blue state ballots.

Kennedy has been extremely critical of the Democratic Party and the media for how he says they have treated his campaign.

After Kennedy endorsed Trump, the former president said it was a “big” and “very nice” gesture from the independent candidate.

“He’s a great guy, respected by everybody,” Trump said of Kennedy.

Reports have suggested that Kennedy would carry out major reforms of various government agencies, though he pushed back at claims that he would dismantle them, mainly several health-related agencies.

“I wouldn’t dismantle them. I would change the focus, and I would end the corruption,” Kennedy said.

He later noted, “We need to get the corruption out of FDA, out of NIH, out of the CDC, and make them function as they’re supposed to function, which is to protect public health and particularly children’s health.”
