Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson has released a preview of a tense interview with Texas Senator Ted Cruz, in which Cruz appears to suggest the United States is supporting Israeli military strikes on Iran.

The exchange took place as part of Carlson’s ongoing criticism of former President Donald Trump’s recent Middle East policy decisions, which Carlson argues stray from his “America First” platform. During the interview, Carlson questions Cruz on his calls for the U.S. to back Israel in removing Iran’s ruling regime—a move that would mark a sharp escalation in the region.

At one point, Cruz states, “Israel is leading them, but we’re supporting them,” referring to recent strikes in Iran. Carlson quickly points out the apparent contradiction, noting the Trump administration has publicly denied any direct U.S. involvement in offensive operations.

“You’re breaking news here,” Carlson responded, suggesting the senator’s remarks conflicted with official statements from the Trump campaign.

Cruz later clarified, saying: “No, we’re not bombing them. Israel is bombing them.”

The full interview is expected to be released later this week.
