An employee at a Tampa, Florida, Walmart was arrested and jailed over the weekend after a fight broke out inside the store, and he pulled a knife and cut someone.
Tampa Police shared that the incident happened just after 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The employee involved in the incident was identified as 18-year-old Justin Viloria Jimenez.
Police say that Jimenez got into an altercation with several other people when he escalated things and pulled the knife out.
It was not made clear whether the victim was another employee or a customer at the store.
The victim, who was cut by Jimenez’s blade, was taken to the hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
Following the altercation, the Walmart location on North Dale Mabry Highway was closed for several hours but has since been reopened.
Jimenez is facing charges of culpable negligence, police shared.
The investigation remains ongoing as detectives work to discover what led to the altercation.
