Six Tops supermarkets have an extra case of Buffalo Sabres' playoff fever.
For the sextet of Tops' market, the traditional Buffalo Sabres' logo has been installed and replaces the "O" in the supermarket chain's logo.
The logo can be found on the facade of each store.
Crews from Ulrich Signs installed the Sabres' logo on Monday (April 13) and the logos will remain in place as long as the team remains in the NHL playoffs, said Kathy Sautter, Tops' spokesperson.
"It plays off our allegiance with the Sabres," Sautter said.
Tops has been a long time sponsor of the Sabres and is the team's "official supermarket."
Tops has been selling a wide variety of Sabres' related items in its stores including t-shirts and sweatshirts and various hockey-related food items.
"The signs just plays off of that," Sautter said.
Tops chose the six stores for their geography and, in some cases, near where some of the Sabres players and coaches live.
"We want to build on the excitement that is growing," Sautter said.
The Sabres' playoff run will start this weekend.
