Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - You can feel the difference, for sure. Cooler. More comfortable. Yet, still sunny and dry.

The run of pleasant summer-like weather continues through the weekend, just with temperatures much cooler than the record-breaking heat of the work week.

"It will be notably cooler this weekend with highs in the 70s," say the forecasters at the National Weather Service in Buffalo. "Bountiful amounts of sunshine today," is how the meteorologists describe the weekend in Western New York.

Winds, however, will be strong and gusty from the northeast. Gusts to 30 mph at times will cause high waves on Lake Ontario where a Beach Hazards Statement has been posted by NWS.

"Dry and cooler weather will continue tonight," forecasters say with overnight lows in the low 50s across the Lake Erie shoreline.

The next chance for precipitation will arrive late Monday into Tuesday, forecasters say. Only scattered showers are expected with the chance of thunderstorms and only a light amount of rainfall expected.
