Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - What a difference a year makes.
The forecast map for Buffalo and Western New York was littered with Blizzard Warnings and Winter Storm Warnings in advance of the Buffalo blizzard that paralyzed the region and left dozens dead.
Fast-forward to this Christmas weekend and it's mild, green and only a few nuisance rain showers are in the mix.
After a few 'nuisance' rain showers through the day Saturday, "We should be dry right through Christmas Day," National Weather Service meteorologist Phillip Pandolfo tells WBEN.
"We're going to see a day to day warming trend between now and early next week," Pandolfo tells WBEN, adding, "With Christmas Day likely being the warmest day of the 7 day forecast." Mid 50's will be the forecast high for Christmas Day.
The Christmas warmth won't be record-breaking but will likely fit into the top 5 warmest Christmases for the area. "We had a high of 64 that was set back in 1982, so not quite scratching that territory, but very warm."
A green Christmas it will be!
