Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - A weekend warmup is in store for the Buffalo-Niagara region in the aftermath of the coldest air of the season so far and the first snow of the season as well.
National Weather Service forecasters in Buffalo say Friday will be breezy, with highs about 10 degrees warmer than Thursday. Winds will gust to 35 mph on the Niagara Frontier, with gusts 25-30 mph elsewhere. Otherwise, it'll be fairly pleasant today with dry weather and some breaks of sunshine.

50's is the forecast through the weekend and as far into the coming week as Tuesday with the chance of limited, scattered showers in the forecast as well.
There will be a return to more seasonable temperatures come midweek next week, NWS forecasters say. "We should generally trend colder again through the rest of the period as colder air filters back across our region, with daytime highs settling back into the 40s for most areas on Wednesday and Thursday."
