Some people might have trouble finding the motivation to run a single marathon. But not this bionic woman.

Amputee athlete Jacky Hunt-Broersma recently completed 104 marathons in 104 days, setting an unofficial women's world record -- all while wearing a carbon-fiber prosthesis.

The 46-year-old ultrarunner, who lost her left leg below the knee in 2001 to a rare cancer, marked the tremendous feat on Twitter with a victory announcement.

"Marathon 104 and my final Marathon, what a journey. Thank you so much to everyone for your amazing support," she posted on April 30, along with a photo of her arms raised in celebration.

Every day since January 17, Hunt-Broersma has completed 26.2 miles either outside near her home in Gilbert, Arizona, or on a treadmill. Her original goal was to run 100 marathons in 100 days to beat the record of 95 set in 2020, the Associated Press reported.

That goal was bumped up in March after a British runner finished 101 marathons in 101 days. She aimed for 102 to set the record, and then added two more marathons for good measure.

A Guinness World Records spokesperson told the AP it was aware of Hunt-Broersma's record attempt, which could take months to verify.

Setting a world record wasn't Hunt-Broersma's only purpose. She also raised more than $67,000 to help fellow amputees get expensive prostheses they need.
