CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WBEN) - The overnight parking restrictions in the Town of Cheektowaga and the Town of Tonawanda have been postponed.

The Town of Tonawanda said that their parking ban, which was scheduled to begin on Friday, will now go into effect on November 15. It prohibits parking on all streets in the town between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.

"In the unlikely event of a significant snowfall, please use common sense and remove your car from the street so that our Town Highway plows can clear the snow," the town website read.

Cheektowaga Town Supervisor Diane Benczkowski said that the ban has been postponed "until the first significant snowfall or until further notice."

Cheektowaga residents are asked to follow the town's social media accounts for when the parking ban goes into effect.
