'Gangster Capitalism' Returns for Season 2 Through RADIO.COM's Cadence13

Gangster Capitalism

"Gangster Capitalism," a podcast by RADIO.COM's Cadence13, is coming back for its second season. The first season dove into the ins and outs of the high-profile college admissions scandal. This time, they're exploring the National Rifle Association (NRA).

Internal power struggles with the NRA have exposed the group's questionable, and possibly illegal practices which now threaten the nearly 150-year-old nonprofit like never before.

"Gangster Capitalism" aims to pull back the curtain to reveal that this has little to do with guns and more to do with money.

The trailer, which has already been released, outlines a little bit more about the podcast's intentions. "It's not surprising that people are talking about the NRA, but what is surprising is what they're saying," host Andrew Jenks begins.

In interviews with people stationed at gun rallies, Jenks finds the hidden truth behind what supporters really think. "The money's not being used very well, there's a lot of overspending and they're taking in money from gunowners and using that to kind of line their own pockets," one member says.

"I am a member, but I'm second guessing that at this point. I'm definitely disappointed in the NRA. You know, at some point, it'll be exposed," another chimes in.

Jenks continues in outlining the issues with the NRA and the fate of its future. "Now, more than ever, the future of the nation's most powerful special interest group is uncertain, but one thing is clear. The NRA has big problems," Jenks concludes.

"Gangster Capitalism" season 2 launches on Wednesday, March 25. You can listen to the podcast on the RADIO.COM app.
