NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WBEN) - Tourism officials in Niagara Falls contemplated how they can overcome a disastrous tourist season caused by the coronavirus pandemic that has cost popular attractions and the region millions of dollars in lost revenues.

"Our animals are essential," Siddall told WBEN. "We don't have the opportunity to furlough or lay off a sea lion, so those are expenses that are incurred from providing care for them. Our expenses held exactly the same whether we had visitation or not."

Siddall hopes that New Yorkers, especially locals, will come to the aquarium and they have adjusted their strategic plan to focus more on the local community.
