A crazy video shot in the backyard of a Horry County, SC, home has gone viral, not for its visual complexity, but for its animal brutality.
In the 24-second clip posted by Taylor Soper and shot by his dad, a huge, dark green alligator is shown coming onto the edge of a lake.
In his mouth, he holds a half-grabbed smaller gator, which he violently swallows down before sinking back under the water.
Taylor estimated that the smaller alligator was a whopping six feet long.
"I was absolutely blown away,” said Taylor. “It’s a freaking dinosaur.”
By the end of the clip, the “small” gator is lodged in the bigger one’s throat as if it were a ball of gum stuck in your throat. You might want to wait until after lunch to add to the clip’s viral numbers, which are now at over two million views on Twitter with nearly 25,000 likes.
Needless to say, Twitter users went wild with the comments.
“It’s time to move your parents,” said one.
“Imma have dinosaur nightmares,” said another, adding, “so now you’re gonna have them too.”
Maybe there’s some kind of reptile karma going on because, as USA Today reported, the family also spotted the 6-foot long alligator eating a smaller one last week.

The family has reportedly had numerous gator sightings around their property, though they make sure to watch them from afar with binoculars.
While Mr. Soper was surprised that the video went viral, his 5-year son loves watching the vicious clip,
“I was just in shock and immediately showed my son. He’s five and just an alligator fanatic, so he went crazy over it,” Soper said.
While the clip seems extraordinarily Darwinian, as it turns out, alligators are known to prey on nearly anything that is available, according to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries. As evidenced in the clip, that includes each other.
