COVID-19 vaccine recommended in pregnancy, CDC says

By , KYW Newsradio

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — If you are considering becoming pregnant or you are pregnant, should you get the COVID-19 vaccine?

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the risk of severe effects of COVID-19 is greater in pregnant women than in non-pregnant women, and it is recommended that women who are pregnant or considering pregnancy get the vaccine.

The CDC said the vaccine is safe in pregnancy, and there is no link between the COVID-19 vaccine and infertility.

Early reports also show that the COVID-19 vaccine produces protective antibodies for the baby, but there is not enough information to show the degree of protection.
