Tonawanda, NY (WBEN) - Town of Tonawanda Supervisor Joe Emminger has tested positive for Coronavirus.

Emminger made the positive test public in social media posts on Tuesday.

"After not feeling well since last Thursday I called my family doctor yesterday morning and he told me that I should go over to Kenmore Mercy to get tested for COVID, since I have an underlying health issue: I’m a diabetic," Emminger wrote in a Facebook post.

A Coronavirus test administered at the hospital came back positive. Emminger said that he does not know where he may have contracted it, since he has been social distancing for a month. Shortness of breath is his most prominent symptom.

"This is real and it’s no fun. Take every precaution available to protect yourself."

Emminger said he will be in quarantine for at least the next two weeks.

Some personal COVID news. Yesterday after feeling shortness of breath, having a dry cough and frankly just not feeling well, I called my doctor who advised I get tested for COVID. You guessed it, I tested positive for COVID. I was educated on all the precautions to take pic.twitter.com/qjkEIXu5JN
