NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- If you asked a genie for the show to go on for “Aladdin” on Broadway, it looks like it worked.

After its second night back on stage was canceled due to breakthrough COVID cases, “Aladdin” will go on as scheduled Thursday night.

The show made its return to The New Amsterdam Theatre Tuesday to a rousing response from the crowd.

But COVID cases meant everyone with tickets for the second night had to get a refund.

The cancellation was the first missed Broadway performance due to COVID since its reopening in June, according to the New York Times.

The show first opened at the New Amsterdam Theatre in 2014, and was nominated for five Tony Awards.
