C-Mac says Jets fans can have bragging rights over the Giants after Sunday’s overtime win, but they also have to deal with the reality that their former No. 2 overall pick isn’t getting any better, and is flat-out bad.
“The quarterback is awful,” C-Mac said of Zach Wilson. “He takes terrible sacks and he can’t throw the ball.
“Forget about the backup quarterback for the Giants. Are the Jets gonna have a legitimate backup that they feel comfortable going to? Because it’s time to start pulling this kid in games where he does absolutely nothing.”
Wilson posted his worst completion percentage of the season at 47 percent, while a couple downfield throws in desperation time salvaged his passing yard totals on the day. But a fumble on a sack in the first half led to a field goal for Big Blue, which was nearly the difference in the game. While there was nothing to like from the Giants’ side, C-Mac says there wasn’t much more to like for Gang Green, especially at the quarterback position.
“If you think making a couple throws down the field with 24 seconds left, one where he knew he had a free play…underthrew a receiver and led to a horrendous penalty…Zach Wilson was awful in this game,” C-Mac said. “Awful. The Giants had their way with him.
“His athleticism is so overblown. He never escapes anything…what a joke.”
