Keith has grown tired of Aaron Rodgers managing to be the center of attention, despite being out since Week 1, though he has to tip his cap to the Jets quarterback for managing to keep himself in the spotlight despite rehabbing from major surgery.
“This has been going on since December of last year. This guy is a master manipulator,” Keith said. “We cannot go an hour without Aaron Rodgers. This guy is not playing! The guy is good. He is so good at making himself the story. He is so good at keeping himself in the center of the limelight.
“This guy is powerful. He knows what he’s doing. He’s a Jedi at this. These are Jedi mind tricks. This guy is making you believe things you cannot see, and imagine things that will not happen.”
Rodgers, thanks to his weekly spot with Pat McAfee, regularly updates the world on his rehab progress, and now that he is back on the Jets sidelines, he is an even bigger topic of conversation. Still, when it comes to a potential return this season, Keith isn’t buying any of it.
“He wants you all to believe that he’s way above his rehab, way above his timeline schedule…and whatever he does, this one guy, whatever he is doing is going to get him back on the football field sooner rather than later,” Keith said. “Stop it already.
“The guy can barely walk, and we’re talking about this guy come back around Christmas…are we serious? This is a 40-year-old man who lasted four plays into this season.”
