Robert Saleh, after looking mainly expressionless during the Jets’ 37-20 loss to the Browns on Thursday night, was asked after the game by ESPN’s Rich Cimini why he didn’t seem outwardly angrier after watching his team get blown out in primetime.

After a long pause, Saleh finally said, “I’m not sure the question, Rich. Do you want me to throw the podium on the floor?”

Saleh quickly looked away from Cimini, staring blankly until the press conference was over, and he quickly left the podium.

As for the Jets’ continuous penalties, including flags for 12 men in the huddle, Saleh had more to say.

“I gotta figure it out,” Saleh said. “It’s a lot of pre-snap stuff today. I gotta figure it out.”

The Jets have been penalized more than any other team in the league this season, and the defense was uncharacteristically off its game against Joe Flacco and company, but Saleh wasn’t putting that on the players.

“Technique stuff happens every game on every play, but we pride ourselves on precision,” Saleh said, via Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic. “Obviously, we have to look inward. I have to figure out what we can do better with regards to the week on short weeks to ensure that we keep our precision from a play-calling standpoint and that we're putting our guys in a position to be comfortable with what they're asked to do. There's a lot of things I have to look at first before I start looking at our players.”
