The Columbine school shooting was 20 years ago Saturday, which was the same day as another horrifying incident that happend in the Minnesota community of Waseca.

April 20th, 1999 was the day the body of 12-year-old Cally Jo Larson was found in her home.

She had been stabbed, and left hanging by her neck.

The discovery prompted local police to urge all residents of Waseca to lock their doors while they searched for the killer.

That summer and into the fall, parents in Waseca remained extra-cautious about their children's safety while law enforcement agencies assisted local authorities.

Nearly a year after the crime occurred, Lorenzo Sanchez was arrested, with property at his home linking him to Kally Jo's death.

He eventually confessed to  the killing before trial could begin, and isn't elegible for parole from his life sentence for another 11 years.
