The player voted number one is Jacob Jeannette of Duluth East, sporting a mullet, with a pair of racing stripes shaved into the sides.

The All-Hockey Hair team, put together by the Hendrickson Foundation and posted by Game On Minnesota, was inspired by players showing off their mullets and tinted locks to the crowd and T-V audience during team introduction.

According to the Hendrickson Foundation's GoFundMe page, they were looking to go out with a bang while raising a bunch of money for Minnesota Sled Hockey and Minnesota Special Hockey.

In a message to WCCO radio, a spokesman for the Hendrickson Foundation said a decision was made to end the hockey hair project, adding that the foundation isn't going anywhere.

It's not known if the video will return in any form in 2020.

On the ice, the winners of the state championships were St. Cloud Cathedral and Edina.  Cathedral won its first-ever state title, beating Iron Range darling Greenway 5-2 in the Class 1A final.

The large-school championship was a dandy, with Edina rallying for two goals in the third period, then scoring in overtime to edge Eden Prairie 3-2.
