Apple to partner with 830 WCCO parent company Entercom to expand access to Radio.com

The big news out of Apple's developer conference was the pending retirement of iTunes, in favor or specific apps for Music, Podcasts and TV.  

But there another announcement that made waves in radio land, one that listeners of 830 WCCO News Talk might want to pay close attend to: Apple is partnering with our parent company Entercom to expand the reach and accessibility of our digital platform and streaming service, Radio.com.  


How will this impact listeners? The short answer to that is "TBD." The integration won't launch until later this year, and the details haven't been released yet, but Entercom's Chief Digital Office J.D. Crowley thinks it will be a major step forward for the company. 

"This partnership will extend the reach and accessibility of RADIO.COM and our stations via direct integration into Apple Music and all Apple products where Siri is available, including HomePod," he wrote in a company wide email.
