Police have made an arrest in the Saturday night stabbing death of a woman in downtown Minneapolis. Â
MPD officers responded to the call at 9:34 p.m. Saturday on the 800 block of Hennepin Avenue, the heart of the city's theatre district.
42 year old Mesheka Willis of Minneapolis was taken to HCMC, where she died shortly after arrival. Â
Police Sunday announced the arrest of a woman who has been booked on probable cause murder, but no charges are filed.Â
"There was a disagreement, or a dispute, between what is believed to be known as acquaintances just prior to the stabbing," said the MPD's John Elder.
"That time of night there are a lot of people around," Elder said. "We're hoping that's going to play into our hand for having more witnesses."Â Â
