Former Vikings quarterback Tarvaris Jackson was killed in a car accident in Alabama on Sunday night. His first NFL Head Coach, Brad Childress, called The Chad Hartman Show to discuss Jackson.

Childress says he found out about the death of Jackson by got text messages from former Vikings Offensive Coordinator Darrell Bevell and former Vikings COO Kevin Warren

"It's an absolute shame. I really feel like Tarvaris was starting to come into his own," Childress said. "He had talked about wanting to coach. He wasn't too big to do the small things. Just a great person, a great teammate. You have to have something to stay in the NFL for ten years and play at a high level. Too soon."

Jackson was starting his second season as the Quarterback Coach at Tennessee State University. Jackson retired from the NFL at age 32 following the 2015 season.
