McNeely Hall, which is an academic building and not a student dormitory, is on the south side of Summit Ave., near the southwest corner of Summit and Cleveland Aves.

"The time period that was included in the threat has expired," said Kymm Martinez, UST spokeswoman, adding that the building is being searched, with University personnel working with St. Paul police.

Surrounding buildings have also been evacuated.

Students, faculty and staff were instructed to go to the John Roach Center and the Anderson Student Center on the St. Paul campus.

"We don't want to give an all-clear until we go through everything," she said.

Parents coming to campus are asked to pick up students at McCarthy Gym, west of Cretin and Grand Aves.

"We're taking the threat very seriously," said Martinez.

McNeely Hall,  a classroom and office building for business education, first opened in 2005.
