The Minnesota State Fair took to social media on Thursday to correct the rumor of cancelation that has been floating around social media sites like Twitter and Facebook. The fair says that they have not canceled the end of summer gathering known as "the great Minnesota get-together."
Minnesota State Fair General Manager Jerry Hammer told The Morning News with Dave Lee last week that planning for the fair was still going on and a decision didn't have to be made until June. The GM did add that he didn't see how the fair could go on if physical distancing is still ordered in the state. Governor Tim Walz has been pessimistic about the chances the fair has to run this year saying that the fair is one of the last types of events to get the green light to happen in the state.
