The family of the boy thrown from the third floor balcony at Mall of America says it has "good news to share" on Good Friday.
In a statement released through their attorney Stephen Tillitt, the family of the 5-year-old boy says "our miracle child is showing real signs of recovery."
It says that results have been "positive," and they're gaining "more reason for optimism day by day." The boy, identified as Landen, remains in intensive care after he plunged nearly 40-feet to the ground level one week ago. The family says they have a "long road ahead."
Police arrested 24-year-old Emmanuel Aranda on a charge of attempted murder. Investigators say he allegedly threw the boy who he didn't know over the ledge.
A GoFundMe page has raised nearly $900,000 to support the family, which is requesting privacy.
This is the statement in full, followed by a P.O. address to send cards and well wishes.
