See why Fast Company declared Amy Klobuchar the 'cornball master of the Cracker Barrel quote'

By most accounts, Senator Amy Klobuchar came into Wednesday night's first Democratic presidential primary debate hoping for a standout performance to help distinguish herself from a crowded field of candidates.

Klobuchar came prepared to seize the moment with a pocket full of memorable one-liners, but whether they were memorable for the right reasons is another matter. Notably, Klobuchar said that Trump's promises to lower prescription drug prices were, "all foam and no beer," and when it comes to gun control legislation, she knows what question to ask. "I look at these proposals and I say, does this hurt my Uncle Dick and his deer stand?"

Depending on your perspective, those could either be considered on brand Midwestern folksy — or just corny.

Fast Company, true to its name, had an early take, naming Klobuchar the winner of the, "folksy-meets-corny one-liner award," and crowned her the, "cornball master of the Cracker Barrel quote."

It was a sentiment shared by St. Paul City Council memember Mitra Jalali Nelson.

Is running for office just all about Being Folksy?? I can’t relate idk --

Uncle Dick's deer stand? Did he drink the beer without the suds? Klobuchar's corny references falling flat. #DemDebate

This is not first time Klobuchar has been called corny—see here—and her use of one liners Wedneday night also paid off. Her zinger that Trump "is literally every single day,10 minutes away from going to war, one tweet away from going to war," quickly generated headlines around the world and vauble post debate coverage.
