This year at News Talk 830 WCCO, we wanted to go all out in our Minnesota State Fair coverage. We broadcast from the fair everyday (come visit our booth!), but we wanted to do more, including producing a video reviewing some of this year's new food and beer.
The plan was simple: send BT, or Brian Turner, a local TV and radio veteran who is an occasional guest host with us, to the fair with a digital crew to produce it. BT was a natural fit, as he also runs a craft beer club smartphone app.

And while plenty of other outfits in town do food and beer videos related to the fair, we decided that we wanted to be one of the first to produce one on location after the fair first opened. We got there early, just as Dave Lee was beginning his early morning broadcast.
Some might argue we got there too early in fact, depending on what one thinks of the above video. Not everything went to plan, but we're pretty sure BT enjoyed himself.
