All federal workers, and not just those on furlough, have been offered a bunch of free tickets and services while the government is shut down.

Add a couple more offers.

Until the shutdown ends, all federal employees can get free tickets to Gopher home sporting events.

The University of Minnesota made the announcement yesterday.  The offer includes this weekend's men's hockey series against Wisconsin at Mariucci Arena, and Sunday's men's basketball game against Iowa at Williams Arena.

Anyone who presents their official government ID at the Gopher ticket office will receive complimentary admission for themselves and a guest. The ticket offer is only available for the day of the event.

The U says they'll continue with the ticket giveaway until the end of the shutdown.

The Twins are offering federal workers free tickets to TwinsFest, which runs Friday through Sunday at Target Field.

Federal workers must call the Twins at 612-33-TWINS to make reservations, and have their work ID ready when claiming tickets at Target Field's will-call pickup.
