Housley will not seek rematch against Tina Smith

Minnesota Senator Karin Housley will not make another run at US Senate. 

The Stillwater Republican announcing on Facebook that, after months of consideration, she will seek reelection to the Minnesota Senate, forgoing another matchup against Tina Smith. 

Housley lost to Smith last November in the race to fill the remainder of Al Franken's US Senate term.  Many had speculated that she would run against Smith again in 2020.  

Housley says she is looking forward to joining her husband, Minnesota hockey legend Phil Housley, on his new adventure.  Last month, Phil Housley was named an assistant coach of the NHL's Arizona Coyotes.
