In the Instagram post, Izzy's says that it is looking ahead to the next 20 years of the business which won't include the scoop shop. They say they plan to distribute their ice cream through local grocery stores and will be available to purchase online.
In a statement, Izzy's Ice Cream owners Jeff Sommers and Lara Hammel say that they are thankful for the support and are looking ahead to where the business goes.
"We are profoundly grateful for all of the moments that we have shared with all of you: the community of people that have built, enjoyed, experienced, supported, and sustained our vision for an ice cream company has been nothing short of amazing -- we have celebrated thousands of special events and moments with you, your families, friends and businesses. For this, we are profoundly grateful."
Izzy's scoop shop will close its doors on August 31st.
