Authorities have identified the 27-year-old man shot and killed by police officers in Albert Lea earlier this week.
The Ramsey County medical examiners office sways Joseph Alan Roberts died of multiple gunshot wounds on Thursday.
According to the BCA, two officers, Lt. Darin Palmer and officer Jesus Cantu, fired their weapons at the Albert Lea man.
A third officer, Jason Taylor, used a taser and chemical irritant. The BCA also says officer Taylor suffered a "minor, sharp-force injury" in the confrontation.
Records show all three officers have been with the Albert Lea police department for at least 18 years.
They are all on standard administrative leave.
Police in the southern Minnesota community had been called to a home after a disturbance was reported.
Roberts was shot after a foot chase and investigators say they found a knife at the scene.
Officers were not wearing body cameras but an Albert Lea squad car dash camera was operating.
