A bill that would legalize recreational marijuana in Minnesota is shut down in the Senate Judiciary committee, and very well may be dead for good in this legislative session
The committee vote to defeat the bill was 6-3 along party lines, Democrats in favor and Republicans against.
The panel earlier defeated a motion to keep the discussion going by sending it to another committee without a recommendation one way or the other.
Also rejected was formation of a task force to conduct a comprehensive study and come back with recommendations on marijuana-related issues
Walz said the state should be able to address the concerns and at the same time see that that prohibition has failed.
