The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has ruled the death of Twin Cities businessman and his wife a murder-suicide.
Irwin Jacobs and his wife Alexandra were found dead on Wednesday in their Lake Minnetonka home on the 1700 block of Shoreline Drive.
The medical examiners says Jacobs shot his wife before shooting himself to death.
Both were 77 years old.
Police say they were discovered Wednesday morning by someone who enters the house routinely. They were in bed along with a gun but that there was never a threat to the public, nor are they looking for any suspects, according to investigators.
The 77-year old Jacobs was CEO of several corporations at one time or another, including Grain Belt Brewing, and now-bankrupt boat-builder Genmar.
He also once owned a minority share of the Minnesota Vikings.
Alexandra was an artist and in a wheelchair suffering from early signs of dementia.
