Following the Women's World Cup win, the US National Team will embark on a five-stop victory tour starting August 3rd at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA vs. Ireland.  After that, they have announced four more dates: August 29th, September 3rd, October 3rd and October 6th.

But, they haven't announced where those four matches will take place. WCCO's Mike Max reported on the Morning News Friday that he's confirmed Allianz Field is in the running to host one of those matches.

Allianz Field, which opened in 2019 as the home of the Minnesota United FC, has a seating capacity of 19,400.

He told John Hines, "It is in play.  If they play here, it would be at Allianz Field, not TCF Bank Stadium or a bigger stadium.  It would be Allianz if they got it.  And the fact that Allianz had that US Team playing earlier, and playing well."

The other US Team Max was referencing was the US Men and their 4-0 win against Guyana at Allianz Field in June.

"As I understand it, it's not like you go out and make a bid as much as the governing body of soccer kind of runs it and picks the places", said Max.  "But because they've been impressed with the way it went for the US Men's teams, there's probably some of the same people that sit in the same offices when they're there earlier this summer. And because they'd been impressed by the fan turnouts that they've had for the Loon's camp, they are in play for this."

Right now, a lot is still unknown according to Mike.  "There is a chance that they could get the US Women's team sometime in the next couple months to come by and make a stop, and I don't know who they'd play. There's enough international teams out there and, and let's face it, everybody's trying to generate some money right now. But yeah, here, that's very much a possibility right now."
