The city of Minneapolis has reached a settlement with the family of Jamar Clark.

The attorney for the family of Clark tells the Star Tribune a $200,000 settlement was reached Thursday afternoon.  That settlement will have to be approved by the Minneapolis City Council, which rejected an earlier settlement with Clark's family because the five-figure amount was too low.

Jamar Clark was shot and killed by Minneapolis officers after a struggle on the North Side in November of 2015.  Clark's death resulted in an occupation protest outside of the Minneapolis 4th Precinct Headquarters that lasted more than two weeks.

Earlier this year, the city of Minneapolis settled with the family of Justine Damond, who was shot and killed by Minneapolis Police.  That settlement was for $20,000,000.
