You knew it was coming.
With the Minnesota State Fair canceled for 2020 because of the coronavirus, and tickets for the state fair food parade sold out, the folks at the Great Minnesota Get-Together are offering another version of the next-best-thing.
It’s called the At-Home Edition, and it goes online on the fair’s website and social media channels on August 27, the day the fair was supposed to begin until the pandemic stopped all preparations in their tracks.

Every day through Labor Day, the At-Home Edition features fun facts, demonstrations, entertainment, behind-the-scenes peeks, and activities. Just like being there.
Sort of.
“We can’t go to the fair this year, so we’re bringing the fair to you,” said General Manager Jerry Hammer. “You’ll see familiar favorites and also learn exciting things you never knew about the fair, and hopefully put them on your list to experience next year.”
You’ll even be able to get the feel of the fair.
Their website is also offering merchandise packages that include plates, cups, paper hats, a vintage ribbon and pennant.
Topping that is the Crop Art to Go kit, which is pretty much what you’d expect… seven varieties of seeds, illustration patterns, glue, a paintbrush, and, of course, directions.
Right now, the Minnesota State Fair is scheduled to return August 26, 2021.
