A man leaving a bible study with his daughter was shot and killed last night outside of a St. Paul church on Wednesday night.. No arrests have been made in what is the city's 20th homicide of the year, and the sixth in the last 17 days.
Police spokesman Steve Linders described the senseless shooting
"It's incomprehensible to think that someone would shoot into a group of people leaving a church in a neighborhood," Linders said. "It just makes absolutely no sense to any of us."
So far there are no arrests and police haven't announced who the victim was.
The victim's father was carrying a gun at the time and returned gunfire at the suspect. Police say the victim's father had a valid permit for the gun and no one else was injured.
It becomes St. Paul's 20th homicide of the year sixth homicide in 17 days.
